Inspiration
Our journey with Pocket Pal began with a simple yet powerful observation: the world can be an overwhelmingly difficult place for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We were inspired by the stories of countless individuals who, despite their remarkable talents and abilities, faced significant challenges in social interactions. One story that particularly moved us was that of a young teenager named Sam, who struggled daily with social anxiety. His difficulties in navigating social settings and forming connections resonated deeply with us and sparked our determination to find a solution.
What it does
Lifelike 3D Avatars: Pocket Pal features realistic, customizable avatars that simulate social interactions. These avatars can display a wide range of facial expressions, making conversations more lifelike and engaging.
Natural Language Processing: The chatbot uses advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP) to understand and respond to user inputs in a meaningful way. This allows for natural, fluid conversations that mimic real-life interactions.
Personalized Experience: The chatbot tailors its interactions based on the user's communication preferences and sensitivities. Over time, it learns and adapts to provide a more personalized and effective interaction experience.
Interactive Scenarios: Pocket Pal offers a variety of interactive scenarios that users can practice, such as greetings, small talk, and more complex social situations. These scenarios help users build confidence and improve their social skills in a controlled environment.
Immediate Feedback: Users receive real-time feedback on their interactions, helping them understand what they did well and where they can improve. This immediate reinforcement aids in the learning process.
