Inspiration
We were inspired by the current AI wave going through the tech industry and decided to use it to solve the age-old problem of "what should I eat tonight?".
What it does
Your recipe wizard! Select your tastes, answer quick questions, and bam! Personalized recipes ready to save you time and tantalize your taste buds. Say hello to hassle-free meals with MealMatch!
How we built it
We started working on the backend and learning the OpenAI API while our designer created the landing page and overall frontend design. Once that was done we implemented the frontend code and integrated it with the premade backend.
Challenges we ran into
Overscoping with a Tinder-style swiping system which wasted hours of our frontend development time and didn't work in the end.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our AI context and keywords as well as our frontend design and overall aesthetic.
What we learned
Don't overscope in a 24-hour hackathon and keep frontend modules simple.
What's next for MealMatch
Voice AI integration and user accounts with machine learning which analyzes preferences.
