Inspiration
Our inspiration to create this game stemmed from our and our classmates' endless addiction to the New York Times games catalogue. Games like Wordle and Connections have taken the world by storm, educating people by expanding their vocabulary or challenging their critical thinking, however one thing these games lacked was the provision of relevant geopolitical knowledge, specifically with regards to the UN's sustainable development goals.
What it does
Our site provides a mission statement about the goals of the UN and their importance, as well as links to the UN's site to learn and explore more. It also features two connected games: connections and wordle, which each use topics/words pertaining to the UN's SDGs, as to provide an enjoyable and educational experience. The site also includes cited sources for information used.
How we built it
Through the use of HTML, CSS, and Javascript in Repl.it and VScode
Challenges we ran into
We had various difficulties within the process, one which significantly effected us was linking all of our pages together (as this was the first time we has ever done this)
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We definitely coded a lot more than we expected today, making multiple games and also providing a unique educational opportunity for consumers.
What we learned
how to link things together with multiple files.
