Inspiration
Students at the University of Waterloo often have a hard time finding events that fit their goals and motivations. We want to help students to make the most of their experience.
What it does
UPNEXT curates a list of events based on a user's preferences using Retrieval Augmented generation and
How we built it
*Crawl Instagram for posts from student-run clubs using APIFY *Generate embeddings using Vector Embeddings from Together AI *Upload all data to MongoDB, implement vector searching *Implement front-end in React and back-end in Flask
Challenges we ran into
- Dependency issues from different together ai versions led to issues
- Server requests failures
