Inspiration

The inspiration came from the difficulty of finding car meets in the area. You either have to be following the right pages or know the right people. Either way, there isn't a single place for events like these. It's all scattered. My solution was to build that platform: a single place for car enthusiast to list their events.

What it does

As of right now, it's simply a place to list your event. There will be more features in the future.

How we built it

Used Typescript, React, Next.JS, and Supabase to build everything. Hosted the DB on Supabase and the site on Vercel.

Challenges we ran into

My experience for web dev is doing React for the front-end and Java on the back end. So, my biggest challenge was the learning curve. I haven't hosted a project before. I haven't used Next.JS for the backend. I learned almost everything for this project in the course of a week. Another challenge was trying to decide what tech stack to use.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

What we learned

How to host a site. Next.JS + Supabase interactions

What's next for Tuned Nation

I want to build out more features for the site, like:

  • A proper user auth
  • Build the event listing further
