Inspiration

Online scamming is an issue that many seniors face. Because of this I saw a need to create a skill that will not only educate but enable the elderly to stay updated in spotting and avoiding scams and what to do if they happen to be a victim.

What it does

Scam Baiter educates the elderly on the different types of scams they may encounter, how to spot a scam, how to avoid getting scammed and what to do if they get scammed.

How we built it

I built Scam Baiter by extending and customizing Amazon Alexa Fact skills using Javascript.

Challenges we ran into

I was unable to do personalization of the skill since it required having to create and host privacy policies and terms and conditions.

What we learned

I learnt how to build Alexa Skills something I have never done before.

What's next for Scam Baiter

I would like for the skill to be able to give answers based on the name on the scam itself too and not just give random scam types.
