Inspiration
After delving deeper into indigenous communities, we were inspired by an idea. Our research shed light on the significant impact of climate-related disasters on these communities. We discovered that a considerable part of this challenge stems from inadequate disaster protection in many of their buildings. Which led to the creation and implementation of our website. Our mission is to create sustainable solutions, amplify local voices, and catalyze positive change for a more resilient and equitable world.
What it does
This project empowers communities to address climate change risks through resilient infrastructure and collective action. It promotes collaboration, knowledge sharing, and sustainable solutions to enhance resilience and create a safer, more sustainable future amidst environmental challenges. Our guides emphasize the importance of resilient infrastructure and educate people about affected areas. We also provide social opportunities for communities to unite, empower each other, and develop solutions together.
How we built it
We utilized a variety of technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for frontend development, ensuring an engaging user interface. We used advanced CSS and JavaScript features, to make our website interactive, with good functionality, and employed localStorage, keyframes, and various other features for seamless user interaction.
Challenges we ran into
Mastering unfamiliar technologies such as LocalStorage and CSS keyframes, combined with investing significant time in designing the discussion page, posed primary challenges. Overcoming these hurdles demanded dedication, adaptability, and a collaborative team spirit. Additionally, we faced difficulties in researching and developing a functional website within a limited timeframe.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
During the website development journey, we delved into advanced concepts and deepened our understanding of climate change challenges. We explored resilient infrastructures that can mitigate climate-induced disasters and prioritized raising awareness. We are especially proud of the impact our website can make. What started as a small idea evolved into a vast array of exciting concepts that inspired us greatly. While it's challenging to fully convey in words, we poured a lot of thought and passion into this project.
What we learned
During website development, we explored advanced topics like local storage and CSS keyframes. We also delved into climate change issues and strategies to mitigate its impact. Learning about resilient infrastructures, we emphasized both adaptation and awareness spreading.
What's next for RESILIENT

NOTES:
- Due to the short amount of time the articles were generated with GPT.
- The images do not belong to us. We will be crediting them all on the about page in time.
- Some things are not entirely as functional as we hoped. If we get a chance we will definitely look into learning how to properly integrate these features.
- The demo video was very rushed. We wish that we took more time to explain why the feature was added and what it does.
