The market for second-hand goods is plagued by counterfeits and trust issues. ReLisk’s blockchain integration provides a reliable way to verify the authenticity of each item sold, reducing the risk of buying counterfeit goods.

Problems Solved

  • Authenticity and Provenance: ReLisk uses blockchain to create a permanent, immutable record for each item minted as an NFT. This ensures that the authenticity and history of each item are transparent and verifiable, helping to prevent the sale of counterfeit goods.
  • Transaction Security: Transactions on ReLisk are secured using blockchain technology, which means all changes of ownership are recorded in a tamper-proof manner. This reduces the risk of fraud and increases the safety of both buying and selling.

Smart Contract

  • NFT Minting: Users can mint NFTs representing physical or digital secondhand goods, complete with detailed metadata to ensure traceability and security using the ERC721 standard.
  • Decentralized Listings and Sales: Sellers have full autonomy to list their items at desired prices, and buyers can purchase directly through the platform, with all transactions immutably recorded on the Lisk blockchain.
  • Secure Ownership Transfers: Ownership of NFTs is securely transferred upon purchase, ensuring clear title transfer and minimizing the risk of fraud.

Frontend Functionalities

  • Minting Interface: Sellers can easily mint and list items via a user-friendly web interface, entering details, set prices, and uploading images and descriptions of the items they wish to sell.
  • Inventory Management: Users can manage their collection of minted NFTs, keep track of items listed for sale, and revoke listings.
  • Marketplace Access: Integrated directly into the frontend, the marketplace offers a seamless browsing and purchasing experience, allowing users to explore available items and conduct transactions with ease.

Future Implementations

  • Load Time Reduction: We are actively working to improve the load times of our platform, which currently range from 2-4 minutes as data is pulled directly from the blockchain. We plan to implement caching strategies and optimize data retrieval processes to enhance the user experience by speeding up the loading of marketplace data.
  • History and Accounting API: We plan to integrate a comprehensive API to track the history of items sold and generate detailed sales reports. This will also facilitate better inventory management for both individual sellers and partnered stores.
  • Shipping Tracking Integration: By incorporating advanced shipping tracking capabilities, we will enhance the buying and selling process, providing real-time updates and ensuring a smooth transaction flow from sale to delivery.

    • Automated Confirmation and Escrow Release: Upon confirmation of delivery via the shipping API, funds held in escrow will be automatically released to the seller, enhancing security and trust in the transaction process.
