Inspiration
We were inspired by the many good people acting to save our wildlife from extinction so we created a game inspired by law enforcement rangers.
What it does
Our game allows the user to control a law enforcement ranger and eliminate poachers in order to stop them from poaching which in some cases leads to the extinction of the animals that the poachers poach.
How we built it
We built it on the 2021 version of unity utilizing the components that it provided us with. The components mainly contribute to the physics aspect of our game. We got help from YouTube tutorials on scripts that managed the functionality of the player and enemies.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into many bugs that broke the game. We even ran into a point where our whole game editor crashed and messed up all of the order within our program. Luckily our scripts and sprites were saved so we could rebuild fairly fast.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud that we got to learn how Unity worked since it was our first time actually working with the Unity editor.
What we learned
We learned that when debugging, we have to try new things in order to find and remove the bug, otherwise we aren't going to get very far.
What's next for Rangers vs. Poachers
If we had more time we would like to refine the shooting characteristics and functions of the poacher enemies and the function.
