Inspiration

I love working with APIs that are related to security.

What it does

I've been using tools available in Kali Linux for years to do penetration testing. Pangea's URL Intel and Domain Intel looked very valuable to me, so I decided to show their results directly in Chrome's DevTools.

How we built it

I built it in around 2 nights. I'm quite familiar with developing extensions for Chrome and Firefox, but this time I could find the time for only one. I've written this in plain JavaScript, using VS Code, and directly testing in Chrome's DevTools.

Challenges we ran into

Time. I had way more ambitious intentions for this project, like replacing Chrome's password manager with Pangea's Vault, but...

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I think It's pretty decent tool already, even without any styling.

What we learned

This was my first hackathon. It felt good.

What's next for Pangea DevTools For Chrome

There's a lot more that could be added to this extension. IP Intel, for example. This was currently not possible because Chrome's stable channel doesn't support the DNS resolution API in DevTools yet.
