Inspiration

I have designed a XR game specifically for children, inspired by a classic childhood toy—the labyrinth ball puzzle. Players use the remote control functionality of VR devices to navigate a small ball through a maze. The entire game setting is built within a whimsical playground that, through meticulously designed model structures and warm Shader materials, displays a charming and rounded artistic style.

What it does

Frame moments and objects that will disappear. Everyone has their own memory fragments, whether from childhood, the present moment or old age, moments and objects of the present will become memories to be stored for the future, toys, furniture and objects will evoke a memory. Toys, furniture and objects all evoke a memory. They are all part of the pieces of life that grow with us. As we grow up, these objects are gradually lost, just like the toys in Toy Story that end up in the garbage collection station. For adults, the number of lost objects is only likely to increase.

How we built it

I made a sphere-balancing maze puzzle that allows you to pick up the virtual object with gestures in the MIX state and place it anywhere in your home at any time without losing it. At the same time, through UDP, you can look at the specified geometric furniture for 5 seconds, the furniture to generate our preset 3D assets (for example, looking at the cans, will generate a column, the model, and then the player can be isometric scaling objects, placed in the design of the toy device as a decorative, but also have the option of Shencheng's model into the need to control the ball of the steel ball to customize the steel ball.

Challenges we ran into

Our design reads and scans a record of objects around you by way of a virtual NFT and generates a matching model. It can be taken and stored all the time, and the generated model can be put into the rotating maze toy as a customized space decoration. After a long time, this memorized object can be extracted from the toy character and put into the real space for interactive decoration. For example, we then build huge libraries of models and categorize them. Custom decoration classes, custom rolling ball replacement classes.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

By offering this dual experience of interaction and visual appeal, I aim to create a virtual playground that entertains children and resonates with adults, allowing every player to find their own joy in this delightful children's paradise.

What we learned

Furthermore, the game employs a colorful painted style for global rendering, making the entire interface resemble the vibrant and lively illustrations found in children's picture books. This design not only captures children's attention, drawing them into the fun of the game but also evokes adults' fond memories of their innocent childhood.

What's next for Playground

Scanned toy models of small cars, furniture around us are collected into the library through VR devices to generate 3D scanned models. Then directly take this model by gesture to shrink it and put it into the playground toy to form a custom toy decoration component. Some objects will become rolling spheres with sphere collisions.
