Inspiration
We were inspired to create PlantGuard to help people protect their plants from extreme weather conditions.
What it does
PlantGuard uses weather data to alert users when their plants need protection from extreme heat, wind, or storms.
How we built it
We built PlantGuard using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js) and integrated it with a reliable weather API.
Challenges we ran into
Integrating the weather API seamlessly and ensuring real-time alerts were some of the challenges we faced.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of creating a user-friendly app that helps people safeguard their plants and fosters a love for greenery.
What we learned
We learned a lot about handling real-time data and creating responsive web applications.
What's next for PlantGuard
Next, we plan to add more features like plant care tips, customizable alerts, and expanding to cover more weather events for comprehensive plant protection.
