Inspiration
We're developing an AI-powered student app for easy note-taking and seamless studying. With intuitive features, students can effortlessly jot down notes, receive personalized study recommendations, and access their notes anytime for efficient exam prep. Our aim is to simplify studying and boost academic success.
What it does
Our student app revolutionizes learning. Students can search any topic and receive personalized lesson plans crafted by our AI guidance. Additionally, the app seamlessly converts uploaded PDFs into editable text format, facilitating easy access and note-taking. With these capabilities, students can efficiently manage their study materials and take notes, ensuring a smooth and comprehensive learning experience.
How we built it
Challenges we ran into
We faced initial hurdles integrating Cohere APIs and refining their output to minimize it effectively. Another challenge arose in ensuring a seamless UI/UX experience. Additionally, integrating TinyMCE, although time-consuming, was eventually successful. However, we encountered issues when merging branches to the main branch, leading to code collisions and affecting the final results.
Accomplishments and learnings that we're proud of
We're particularly proud of our team's achievements, especially considering that most members were new to technologies like React.js, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS. Despite this, we efficiently tackled our tasks and successfully learned to utilize Firebase as our web database. This hackathon provided invaluable learning experiences, equipping us with skills that we're confident will bolster our performance in future competitions Additionally, successfully integrating TinyMCE was a notable accomplishment. Despite its complexity, we managed to implement this feature effectively, enhancing the functionality and user experience of our application. Also we are proud of application support dark mode, Also most of team members are new and we are proud that we learned react, next.js , database authentication in 2 days.
Learnings
Firstly, mastering React.js was a significant achievement for our team, enabling us to develop dynamic and responsive user interfaces. Additionally, we're pleased with the seamless UI/UX design we achieved, ensuring a user-friendly experience.
What's next for NiceQuestion
NiceQuestion is gearing up for transformative upgrades. We're introducing streaks to enhance user engagement and motivation, alongside personalized reminder emails to keep users on track with their study schedules. Additionally, we're streamlining semester preparation by integrating college schedules into our platform, ensuring students are well-prepared for upcoming courses and deadlines. Looking ahead, we're exploring integration with virtual assistants like Siri and Alexa to revolutionize the studying experience, making it more intuitive and accessible. These developments reaffirm our commitment to empowering students and enhancing their academic success.
Furthermore, we're committed to accessibility and inclusivity. By integrating Google Text-to-Speech and Speech-to-Text APIs, we'll ensure our platform is accessible to all students, regardless of their preferred mode of interaction. Additionally, we're implementing a language change assistant to cater to diverse student populations, fostering a sense of inclusion and involvement for every college student. These efforts align with our mission to make learning accessible and equitable for all.
Note: While merging branches to our main branch encountered collisions, impacting our overall performance, we encourage you to review our GitHub repository to witness our team's dedication and the depth of our work.
