To tell the whole story of the Musical Blockchain we need to look back at the late-80s of the last century, when founders Gleb Divov and Anton Lenin, both Synaesthetes hearing the world as they see it, were too lazy to learn musical instruments (eventually, we still had to become multi-instrumentalists), but already were computer geeks.

The idea was to have a computer that would take the melody out of the head as we heard it and let us edit it and do whatever we want with already recorded material. As you know, at that time grass was greener, computers were bigger, so there was no chance to make that a reality and the idea went lying on the shelves of time.

Fast forward to 2017, when out of our international research on application of AI/technologies in the fields of psychology (audio and art therapies), medicine and culture, which we were conducting since 2007, instead of plain sound we've got a melodic phrase - and it clicked! We took our Psychological Matrix invention as a base, added another invention - blockchain-based Decentralized Improvisation, introduced audioNFT concept, added Source of Inspiration innovation as a starting point for a music composition (instead of use of pre-trained models) and created first MVP of the Musical Blockchain.

During a very first test-drive at the real-world music festival people started dancing to the third track already, confirming the viability of our idea.

That was the beginning of the FAYR Ecosystem (www.fayr.org) with the Musical Blockchain as one of the foundation stones, which, some years later, have a profound real world impact already in music, art, tv/movie industries, education, city and social initiatives, medicine/psychology and other fields/industries.

So, what is the Musical Blockchain?

Musical Blockchain — is a multi-awarded, world's first psychology-based AI composer and digital art creator. It is a world's first Creative approach to Blockchain + AI; a world’s first introduced audioNFT concept.

Musical Blockchain is also an NFT pioneer and OG CryptoArtist, recognized on the international NFT scene.

Where's the revolution?

We invented and developed an AI music composer solution (Creative AI), who composes music, using provided data as a Source of Inspiration, building melody using the Blockchain + AI with psychology-based natural-like inspiration and improvisation processes.

This means that computer naturally looks at the provided data like real composers would look at it — getting inspired, with all genius, brilliance and tension — while scoring the soundtrack. Along with music composition process, computer verbalizes and visualizes their perception of the music and sound by creating multi-level processed digital art.

In 2021 Musical Blockchain still have no analogues in the world yet.

Musical Blockchain composes music relevant to the Source of Inspiration (pictures, texts, raw binary data and more), utilizing Blockchain-based Decentralized Improvisation™ invention with the Proof of Harmony (PoH) multi-node consensus algorithm.

Musical Blockchain is using Psychological Matrix™ invention, compiled with CV-methods and nonstructural data analysis to create musical patterns and mathematical models for several CNNs, then used to create probabilistic graphical model of emotional markers to add human-like performer behavior.

No models pre-trained on existing music are used. At all.

Digital art with GAN-processed visuals created by the Musical Blockchain, represents snapshots of the current state of the creative process.

In a human-world, generated data-driven digital visuals (along with music and sonic results) are represented and distributed as audioNFT/NFT assets.

Natural-like improvisation and jamming processes are done on a tech level with the aid of a Blockchain.

While currently most Blockchain use cases for all Creative Industries applications is about rights management, storage/sharing, sales and money talks, Musical Blockchain truly connects art, music and creativity with technologies directly on many different levels.

Why Blockchain?

Because we define musical composition as a chain of linked blocks.

Melodic sequence being built block-by-block by the network of nodes, working simultaneously, with an optional coordination by the conductor.

Nodes are building blocks in the same way as musicians in a studio creating a melody. Each node in a network also represents a different voice/instrument with own charisma/character, building its own part of a block.

Another block of melody being built when all nodes reach consensus.
