Inspiration
India's healthcare system faces significant challenges: -Fragmented patient records. -Difficulty in accessing past medical history. -Miscommunications between doctors and patients. -Unable to find specialist in your area. -Every year, about 5.2 million people die due to human errors in India. Even in the US, the figure is not less than 44,000 to 98,000.
What it does
Medi Connect aims to create a common platform for health information accessible across India, akin to Aadhaar, to solve the challenges of repeated medical tests and communication gaps in healthcare.
How we built it:
I built it using React.js and node.js and database used is MongoDB. Currently users data is uploaded using Google Drive API for testing phase. It may cause security issues so we are planning to switch to more secure cloud services.
- Users has to register themselves either as a doctor or a patient. In Patients dashboard they can upload their medical documents in any format and in doctors dashboard they can access patient records after patient provide them their unique ID.
Challenges we ran into:
Their are many security issues because if patients data is leaked it can be misused very badly. Hence finding best way to store their documents, learning about encryption techniques investing money in buying services etc..
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Successfully collecting data of students and some teachers in our college.
What we learned
- Creating a full fledged website and how a product is made.
- Challenges in medical sector.
- User Authentication .
- Data encryption.
What's next for Medi-Connect:
Additional features :
- Health Record Management.
- Doctor Appointment Booking.
- Ambulance Availability Tracking.
- Blood Bank Locator.
- Access to Government Health Schemes.
- Hospital and Clinic Listings.
