Inspiration

While our student elections were coming up last school year, we identified two things that we would like to fix with the process. First was that voters weren't making educated votes - there simply wasn't a convenient place for them to go to in order to learn about the different candidates. What we did notice, though, was that voters would spend time creating mashups of their favorite candidates profile pictures in order to support them on Facebook and other social networks.

We thought we could address both of these problems by creating a website where voters could read about the different candidates while effortlessly creating these photo mashups.

How it works

Candidates sign up and import their campaign pitch, profile picture, and cover photo. Voter sign up, view descriptions of the different candidates, and can easily drag and drop their chosen candidates into a mashup profile picture or cover photo.

Challenges I ran into

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We managed to get almost every candidate for that year's election on the website, and signed up hundreds of now-more-informed voters. Every time we saw a profile picture created with LHSCampaign or got a "Wow, this site is awesome!" note from a user we knew it was useful.
