Inspiration

As a sophomore Business Analytics and Data Science student, I was overwhelmed by the complexities of managing job and internship applications. The process demanded extensive research and the painstaking task of customizing resumes for various positions, which was both time-consuming and daunting. Recognizing these challenges, I saw a clear need for a solution that could simplify and optimize the job search process.

What it does

JobWiz is an AI-powered career agent that streamlines the connection between job seekers and potential employers. By leveraging sophisticated AI algorithms, it personalizes the job search and tailors application materials to each user’s unique profile, significantly enhancing the efficiency and precision of the job application process. This powerful integration accelerates the hiring process and increases the likelihood of securing more fitting and rewarding job opportunities swiftly and effectively. By integrating Amazon Bedrock's generative AI, JobWiz automates the creation of customized resumes and directly matches job seekers with positions that align with their skills and career goals. This not only alleviates the burden of manual job searching but also enhances the effectiveness of the applications, ensuring that candidates can present themselves in the best light for each unique opportunity.

How we built it

We integrated Amazon Bedrock generative AI to handle text generation tasks like resume writing and job matching. LaunchDarkly managed feature releases, allowing us to test different AI models and personalize user experiences based on their feedback and subscription level.

Challenges we ran into

During the development of JobWiz, our team learned a great deal about integrating AI with user-friendly design. Using Amazon Bedrock and LaunchDarkly, we tackled challenges like adapting AI to user needs, managing scalable features, and ensuring ethical AI practices. This experience has significantly enhanced our technical skills and understanding of building effective, user-focused tools in the job market.
