Inspiration
Aiding the visually impaired in experiencing visual art in a unique manner.
What it does
Converts images into unique audio files that help the visually impaired experience visual art.
How we built it
In Wolfram Language, we went pixel-by-pixel, row-by-row and assigned each pixel an instrument and pitch arbitrarily based on its colors
Challenges we ran into
Tuning it was particularly hard because neither of us are very knowledgeable about music theory, so we tried iterations until we came up with something that was usable.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of our ability to not only complete such a complex project, but publish it publicly for everyone to see.
What we learned
How to make music using Wolfram Language.
What's next for Images for the blind
In the future, we could make its audio more consistent/less jagged, possibly add more options to modify the input image (eg. a grayscale filter), and improve its performance.
