Inspiration

As a team we are curious about sustainability and combating climate change, we were inspired to create a project that could make a tangible impact on the world. We recognized the immense potential of renewable energy sources like solar and wind power, but also understood the challenges in their widespread adoption. Many people are hesitant to invest in green energy due to the lack of financial incentives and the difficulty in tracking and quantifying their contributions. We wanted to develop a solution that would not only encourage individuals to embrace renewable energy but also reward them for their efforts in a transparent and accessible way.

What it does

Harmony is a complete end-to-end connecting solution that connects people who have already installed renewable energy generation sources like a solar panel and offers them additional financial rewards through this financial motivation we also make more and more people install solar panels or household windmills or similar sustainable energy generation sources

For the users who install our sensor by integrating it with their renewable source of energy and registering on to the harmony portal through the sensor's secret code the data is collected about the user's energy generation and consumption through our custom-developed GenSensor is made with completely opensource protocols, technologies and hardware this data is then processed and checked for any irregularities or attempts to cheat and then sent to our LISK smartcontract and based on that data HM tokens are awarded to the user after which user can list those HM tokens on our platform integrated marketplace, the market place is the area where other platform users can buy the tokens for the listed price or in case a brand has consumed their token they not only will get the profits generated by the sale but additional rewards like cashback whenever they purchase from the brand's store

The brand portal of harmony is focused on onboarding brands they are onboarded to the platform by signing up as a brand then they have to setup their store details for the Shopify store we ask for their Shopify store link and store apikey using which we generate discounts coupon codes for the users whose HM tokens the brand consumes the brands are awarded via tokens that represent green energy credits and thus help them achieve their goal of carbon neutrality and driving extra sales in the process

The sensor that lets users capture their energy generation and consumption data can be installed stand-alone and shortly, we aim to collaborate with the energy generation device manufacturers to have our sensors integrated into the product itself to make it possible for users to reap all benefits of being a Harmony user with no extra const Having the integrated marketplace be built upon the LISK blockchain makes Harmony a global platform increasing the rewards for our users and making the platform more resilient to local market fluctuations

In short, Harmony is a force that accelerates the adoption of self-sufficient energy generation through renewable sources by offering financial incentives for all the stakeholders involved in the energy revolution

How we built it

we have built harmony using EVM compatible Lisk L2 chain and used solidity to write the backend of our app and the contract is beed deployed on the Lisk sepolia L2 testnet , and for the frontend part we have used NextJs and tailwind and for interaction purpose we have used EthersJs .

Challenges we ran into

Integrating Arduino and Reading data was one of the main challenging task for us , and connecting it with the backend of our project was also complex .

Accomplishments that we're proud of

we have successfully implemented the arduino with our backend and also serialized the connection of sensors , and another accomplishment was integrating the shopify API for getting discounted coupens for incentivizing the users .

What we learned

we have learned about IOT integration with blockchain and also learned many things in the backend automation and flow of logic in the project which consists of IOT sensors .

What's next for Harmony

Looking ahead, we have ambitious plans for Harmony. We aim to expand our ecosystem by onboarding more renewable energy producers and consumers, creating a vibrant and thriving community committed to sustainability. We will continue to refine and enhance the GenSensor technology, exploring new features and capabilities to further optimize energy tracking and conversion.
