Inspiration

I tried creating GPT apps for GPTstore but was utterly disappointed by how useless they were. I hated that GPT chatbots are just text-in-text-out, with maybe some images. People need visual UI components to interact with. I wanted to show how much better the experience could be if agents could generate visual UI components. So, I created a travel guide app to showcase Generative UI.

What it does

Bookings.com agentic app helps the user find places to travel and book their stays. The agents can generate UI components in real time to elevate the user experience.

How we built it

I built it on our platform: Yarn. I storyboarded the experience I want my agents to create for my users. I integrated bookings.com api as well as the ability to browse the web.

Challenges we ran into

If you ask "where on earth is this place?", the agent generates a interactive globe widget and populates it with the pinpoint to the place in question. Agent was not populating the globe correctly for some time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Generative UI: enabling agents to generative UI components in real time.

What we learned

People love visual UI components. It's worth a thousand words. Text-in-text-out is boring.

What's next for GenerativeUX

I want to enable others to create agentic apps like this. Generative UI has to be a movement. Text-in-text-out is just boring.
