Inspiration

Our inspiration for FitFriend came from the desire to make personal training accessible to everyone. We wanted to harness the power of AI to create a virtual workout companion that helps users maintain proper form, stay motivated, and receive personalized guidance anytime, anywhere.

What it does

FitFriend uses advanced computer vision technology to detect a user's form during workouts, automatically counts reps, provides motivational feedback, and offers corrective pointers to ensure optimal performance. Users can also chat with FitFriend for specific exercise help and tips.

How we built it

We built FitFriend using a combination of computer vision algorithms and machine learning models trained to recognize and analyze various exercise forms. The app integrates real-time feedback mechanisms and a chat interface powered by natural language processing to provide personalized support and motivation.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was developing an accurate and efficient computer vision system that works seamlessly across different environments and body types. Ensuring real-time feedback without significant lag and maintaining user engagement through motivational and corrective messages were also significant hurdles.

What's next for FitFriend

Next, we plan to expand FitFriend's capabilities by adding more workout routines, enhancing the chat feature with more detailed exercise guidance, and integrating wearable device support for more comprehensive fitness tracking. We're also looking to incorporate community features to foster a supportive fitness community within the app.
