Inspiration

Our inspiration stemmed from the increasing demand for meaningful interactions in remote work environments. We aimed to tackle the challenges of isolation and lack of team cohesion faced by remote workers, drawing from our passion for technology and non-formal education.

What it does

ExPerk revolutionizes remote work by providing curated travel experiences that foster genuine connections among team members. It offers flexible time frames, detailed plans for work-life balance, and customizable options for location, work hours, and team-building topics.

How we built it

We utilized Astro and React for the frontend and developed an API in FastAPI connected to a Supabase database. This tech stack allowed us to create a user-friendly and exciting platform while ensuring sustainability and accessibility.

Challenges we ran into

Integrating various features seamlessly posed a challenge, as did ensuring a sustainable design for travel experiences. Balancing the need for customization with simplicity in the user interface also required careful consideration.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud to have developed a platform that not only addresses the need for meaningful connections in remote work but also promotes sustainability and accessibility. Additionally, we successfully incorporated features promoting work-life balance and team cohesion.

What we learned

Through this project, we gained a deeper understanding of the importance of soft skills and well-being in remote work settings. We also enhanced our skills in frontend development and API integration, learning valuable lessons in project management and user experience design.

What's next for ExPerk

In the future, we aim to further enhance ExPerk's offerings by expanding its range of customizable options and integrating additional features for team collaboration and skill development. Building on our existing framework, we will continue to strengthen partnerships with educational agencies to provide specialized training opportunities for users, enriching the platform with diverse learning experiences.
