Inspiration
We've been building https://kaizen.place - A direct-to-fan, early-access music platform. One of the most interesting ways to engage with your closest fans is bringing them directly in to the music making process which led us to this hackathon to build an MVP of the livestreaming functionality.
What it does
A creator can livestream from OBS via RTMP or in their browser using WebRTC. The stream can be restreamed to other platforms like Youtube and Twitch thanks to Cloudflare Stream. Creators can gate access to the stream by requesting a name and an e-mail address in order to get access to the livestream.
How we built it
We used Remix for the web app, couchbase for the database, and Cloudflare Streams to manage the livestreams and video recordings.

Accomplishments that we're proud of
Ran a ~4 hour livestream and someone watched and interacted for 2.5 hours
What we learned
WebRTC allows for realtime latency compared to the ~5-7 seconds for LL-HLS.
What's next for Club Kaizen
We'll look to get this integrated into the main kaizen.place website and continue iterating from there!
