Inspiration
One of our teammates has a personal connection to the goal of our project. Being someone who struggles with allergies to inactive ingredients within medications, having a platform that looks into ingredients in medication for possible allergens would be tremendously helpful.
What it does
AllerWise Assistant collects information regarding user's allergies and analyzes them to compare to prescribed medications.
How we built it
As we are doing a no-code approach to our project, we do not have a functional prototype to present. However, we have fleshed out the details of our project and its implementation within our presentation.
Challenges we ran into
Addressing the aspects of cybersecurity was challenging, as prioritizing patient's privacy is important. In order to make sure we upheld patient security, we spent ample time researching in order to align with privacy guidelines.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the idea we are proposing, due to its possible impact on one of our own teammates. Other aspects we are proud of is the UI design, and the features that come with the platform.
What we learned
We learned about some crucial cybersecurity concepts such as encryption and finding reliable APIs.
What's next for AllerWise Assistant
Our model could be expanded to serve other medical needs outside of allergies like extending the existing functionality to check for interactions between prescribed medications and common OTC drugs.
