Inspiration

Our inspiration came about after reading a study from new.un.org, According to their statistics there is an estimated 78 million boys and girls today that do not attend school due to conflict and climate disasters. This story inspired our team to build an innovative website that makes it extremely easy start learning different subjects from anywhere, and anytime.

What it does

Our innovative interface makes it extremely easy to navigate, separating ourselves from the rest. Through challenge activities, videos and interactive elements, it allows for a smooth transition into learning the difficult subject of Math, English and Physics. How we built it We created our website using Next.js and Tailwind.css and used the SWR for efficient data loading and caching. We used FastAPI to create a python web server for our backend.

Challenges we ran into

Figuring out the difficulty and the length of our project due to time constraints was our main difficulty. We originally had a huge scope of our project planned but needed to cut it down due to time constraints.

We ran into the difficulty of creating a server for our website to interact with. Nobody on our team had prior experience with this so we got the opportunity to learn how to make a Python server during this hackathon.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

As mostly first time hackathon participants our team is happy to produce a website that we are truly proud of.

What we learned The world is a cruel place right now. Unfortunately, the only way to solve this problem is to educate and level out the playing field. As seen before in history, divisions between parties usually have unfavorable outcomes. Because of this, it is more important than to have as many resources available for anyone who is trying to get educated.

What's next for acute magenta BoboLink

Our team is extremely excited for what is to come of BoboLink. At its core, BoboLink is a platform with the goal of providing tutoring services to anybody in the world. We want to extend the platform through the incorporation of AI. We plan on using LLM's to help give personalized feedback for the user when they get something wrong based on their wrong answer. Additionally we want to use LLM's to generate an infinite supply of practice problems for the user after they finish our handpicked problems. Finally, we want to fine tune an LLM to act like a helpful teacher which won't give out the answer or act like ChatGPT when prompted. We can accomplish this by partnering with open ai or fine tuning another open source LLM like llama2.
